Development and HR/Purchasing Associate

The Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) is seeking a Development and HR/Purchasing Associate. This is a 40 hour/week position with benefits. Approximately 30 hours/week will be devoted to Development responsibilities. BCP is the largest charter school operator in Maryland, serving over 2,700 PreK-8 students. BCP manages some of the most highly acclaimed charter schools in Baltimore City including City Springs Elementary/Middle, Frederick Elementary, Govans Elementary, Hampstead Hill Academy and Wolfe Street Academy. As conversion charter schools, BCP schools guarantee a seat for every child living in their neighborhood zones; no lottery required.

Job Responsibilities:

Development/Fundraising/Marketing:

  • Assist the Senior Vice President (SVP) with all fundraising and marketing duties
  • Manage fundraising database, generate thank you letters, and generate reports
  • Serve as point of contact for donors, partners, etc.
  • Assist with donor and partner acquisition
  • Solicit corporate sponsorships for events
  • Assist with planning and production of two annual special events
  • Schedule and help the SVP prepare for meetings
  • Represent BCP at community events, as needed
  • Manage fall direct mail appeal
  • Assist with organizational and school-wide marketing
  • Assist with cultivation of individual, corporate, and foundation partnerships
  • Assist with grant management, reporting, and research
  • Manage annual fundraising calendar
  • Order fundraising/marketing supplies
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Other tasks assigned by the SVP

HR/Purchasing:

  • Process payroll when the HR Administrator is out of the office at least 6 times per year
  • Keep the office fully stocked with supplies
  • Answer the phones
  • Any other tasks assigned by the HR Administrator
