For the fourth year in a row, the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) proudly hosted its annual Student Art Contest to create the artwork for the upcoming BCP holiday card sent to donors and supporters. The contest provides students in Kindergarten through 8th grade an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and creativity.

This year’s theme celebrated a milestone: “30 Years of Learning and Growing in Baltimore.” Students submitted colorful illustrations featuring their schools, classmates learning and having fun, and scenes from Baltimore City.

After careful evaluation by BCP staff and board members, considering artistic merit, creativity, and adherence to the theme, the winners were chosen:

1st Place: Andrea Zheng, 8th grader, Hampstead Hill Academy – $50 gift card and artwork featured on the official BCP holiday card

2nd Place: Jamirah Dorsey, 7th grader, Pimlico Elementary/Middle School – $25 gift card

3rd Place: Jayce Mack, 5th grader, Govans Elementary – $15 gift card

Congratulations to all our talented young artists! Your creativity beautifully reflects the spirit of learning, growth, and community that defines BCP.

We also want to thank our schools and art teachers for encouraging student participation. Submissions came from students across all six of our neighborhood conversion charter schools.
