Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) schools are undergoing exciting facility upgrades this summer, reinforcing our commitment to providing students and staff with safe, high-quality, and engaging learning environments.
All BCP schools are housed in buildings owned by Baltimore City Public Schools. As proud partners of the district, we take great pride in our stewardship of these spaces. BCP works closely with the school system to ensure our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to student success.
In addition to district-led projects, BCP also invests school-level funds to go above and beyond—enhancing our buildings to create vibrant, welcoming spaces where students can thrive.
Hampstead Hill Academy (HHA) is receiving new windows and doors through a city-funded facilities improvement initiative. In addition, HHA is repurposing its former gymnasium into three new classrooms to accommodate its growing enrollment and expand learning space.
This past April, HHA opened its long-awaited Newstead Gymnasium, the first phases of needed renovations and expansion for the school. BCP is actively fundraising for a new playground to be installed in spring 2026 and has already raised half of the estimated cost. City Springs Elementary/Middle School continues to make progress toward the construction of a brand-new, state-of-the-art school building. In May, the school team met with architects to further refine the design, ensuring the new facility will reflect City Springs’ commitment to academic excellence and community engagement. Demolition of the former Baltimore Freedom Academy building (originally, Lombard Elementary #057), located directly across the street from the current school facility, is expected to begin soon to make way for this exciting development. Estimated completion of City Springs’ new home is 2028.
Pimlico Elementary/Middle School is in the design phase for a new turf football field and walking track. Once complete, this brand-new athletic facility will offer students a safe, modern space for sports, physical activity, and school pride. The field construction is expected to be completed during the 2025-26 school year.
Govans Elementary, Frederick Elementary, and Wolfe Street Academy are undergoing essential summer maintenance and deep cleaning to ensure they are ready to welcome students for the 2025–2026 school year. Wolfe Street will dedicate its new outdoor mural in July, which was designed and painted by WSA parent and noted Baltimore artist Jessy DeSantis and the school community.
BCP is deeply grateful for our partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools and their commitment to providing exceptional environments where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
