A year ago, this past Thanksgiving, CBRE , a commercial real estate firm in the Inner Harbor, began its outreach with City Springs Elementary Middle School, one of the six neighborhood conversion charter schools in the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) network.

And it has been. “CBRE has always been committed to supporting the Baltimore community,” explains Azita Harris, Operations Manager for CBRE Mid-Atlantic, which is part of the international CBRE firm. “Since our first efforts providing Thanksgiving dinner bags and winter clothing for students last fall, we’ve partnered closely to meet the needs of students and families.”
In addition to 40-plus winter jackets and sets of hats/gloves last winter, CBRE purchased 200 bottles of laundry detergent for our Back-to-School Bash to support families. This typically unmet need enables students to come to school each day in uniform and ready to learn.
This year, CBRE expanded its Thanksgiving meal program to 80 donated turkeys and bags with side fixings, 20 more than last year. CBRE also added more items to each Thanksgiving bag to bring extra joy to children and their families. The company also has purchased another 50 winter jackets for students for distribution in early December.
On Nov. 20, excited families received their Thanksgiving meals, distributed through a first-come, first-served sign-up form, from CBRE employees.
Ms. Harris stated that ”this relationship is deeply meaningful to CBRE. It enables us to make a tangible impact in the community where we work and to help inspire the next generation. Partnering with City Springs reflects our commitment to giving back and building lasting connections in Baltimore. Watching CBRE colleagues enthusiastically get involved makes this effort especially rewarding.”
Thank you, CBRE, for your support!
