In May and June, the Pre-Kindergarten programs at City Springs Elementary / Middle and Hampstead Hill Academy received Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) accreditation. This impressive achievement means that all six of the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) Pre-K programs at BCP’s neighborhood conversion charter schools have MSDE accreditation.

MSDE Pre-K Accreditation is a testament to the high-quality early childhood education offered at BCP schools. Our programs meet strict standards in: age-appropriate curriculum; child assessment and teaching; family and community partnerships; health and safety; and teacher qualifications. This recognition highlights our commitment to families for excellent teaching and a focus on school readiness and success for our youngest students.

Achieving accreditation is the result of hard work and determination by the schools’ Pre-K faculty and school leaders. Achieving MSDE accreditation involves a thorough process over months that included analysis of the program, training sessions, hosting MSDE assessors, and making ongoing improvements. Thank you!
