K-12 Mathematics Education in the U.S. fails to prepare our children
for college and the global economy. U.S. students are falling behind
as curriculum standards emphasize a wide array of math topics instead
of focusing on the basics.
Countries such as Singapore, Japan and Korea consistently outperform
the U.S. on international math assessments. Unless changes are made
soon, this failure in U.S. math education will have dire consequences
for our country’s
work force and its ability to compete in the global economy.
