Recent Accomlplishments

  1. NEW CONVERSION SCHOOLS: Dr. Rayner Browne Academy and Wolfe Street Academy became BCP charter schools in August 2007. BCP has hired additional staff to provide teachers with one-on-one coaching and training.
  2. RAVENS PLAYGROUND BUILD: In June 2007 BCP partnered with the Baltimore Ravens and the Collington Square community to build a $150,000 playground for Collington Square School.
  3. BCP COMMUNITY SCHOOL: BCP’s Community School program at Collington Square School is beginning its second year. Services include GED, a Book Club, Poetry Club, Saturday School, Food Pantry, and health services.
  4. BCP AFTER-SCHOOL: BCP’s After-School Program at City Springs School, which serves 140 students, received over 350 applications on the first day of enrollment.
  5. HAMPSTEAD HILL ENROLLMENT: Hampstead Hill Academy continues to attract new families to the neighborhood. Enrollment has jumped from 409 students in 2003 to 540 today. Operates three Baltimore City charter schools.
